What if I need to modify transportation plans during camp? E.g., I would like my camper to ride the bus home rather than picked up.  Transportation adjustments can be made up until 5pm on the last full day of camp. Any adjustments made after 5pm will need to keep original arrangements.

My Camper has daily or occasional medications, who will oversee their directed use?  Quaker Hill's Friends Camps have one nurse allotted to their camp. The nurse is responsible for ensuring that campers receive and take their appropriate medications while at camp. In the case the nurse is unavailable, camp directors will assume dispensing of medications. All medications must be turned into the nurse upon check in, including any homeopathic medications or supplements.

What to bring: Day Camp Change of clothes, Swimsuit, Towel, Sturdy shoes (sandals / lake shoes optional), Sunscreen, Backpack, Hat  Please do NOT bring: Electronic devices, including smart watches with wifi / data abilities, pets, fireworks, weapons of any kind, or controlled substances. Items will be confiscated.

Do you accomodate for medical dietary restrictions? Yes! Please let our office know ahead of time so that we can adequately prepare. Counselors will assist those with dietary restrictions during meal and snack times.

Pick up and drop off times? Drop off is at 9am Pick up is at 4pm

What if I cannot afford camp? First time camper scholarships are available. Please contact our office for further information. If the first time scholarship does not apply to you, please contact your local church for scholarship opportunities. If you have any questions, please reach out to the camp directors of your specific camp, contact information listed on the main summer camp page.

Check in / First Day of Camp: On the morning of the first day of camp (Tuesday) we will have our staff located in front of the chapel. Once you have checked your camper in you will receive your T-shirt and counselor assignment.  The following days (Wednesday - Friday) campers may be dropped off directly with counselors. Counselors can be found on the grass outside of our Osprey Lodge.

Can my camper request a specific group mate or counselor?  We do our best to honor all group-mate requests within one grade of each other. Due to the unique nature group assignments we cannot 100% guarantee roommate requests.

What Denomination is Quaker Hill's Kids Camps? Quaker Hill is a friends (Quaker) camp, but our camps cater to all denominations. We are strongly rooted in Quaker traditions but our campers, staff and guests come from many denominations and backgrounds. Quaker Hill's Kids Camp is in partnership with Eastwind Community Church, a non-denominational church in East Boise.

How does the camp store work? Do I need to send money with my camper? Each cabin will have a designated time to go to the camp store. Kids Campers are allowed to spend $1.50 on candy / soda per day, equaling 1 candy and 1 soda item (or two candies or two sodas). Campers may also purchase souvenirs during this time. Souvenirs such as apparel goods range from $10-50 dollars. Campers are not required to bring or spend money if they do not wish.      Counselors will use envelops with the campers name to collect camper money to mitigate the risk of it being lost or stollen. Whatever money is not used will be returned to the camper before departure on the last day of camp.

Can my camper request a specific roommate or counselor?   We do our best to honor all roommate requests within one grade of each other. Due to the unique nature of housing we cannot 100% guarantee roommate requests.

Should I send snacks with my camper? Sending snacks to kids camp is not recommended. There will be snacks provided, as well as lots of opportunities for seconds (and thirds!) at meal times.  If you are concerned with dietary restrictions, please call our office at (208) 634-2083.

Can my camper bring their smart watch? Smart watches with data capabilities are not allowed. FitBit's and other smart fitness trackers are fine.

Does my camper need to take the swim test? If your camper would like to go tubing, paddle boarding, kayaking or swim in the deep end, they will need to pass the swim test. Swim tests must be taken annually regardless of completion the year prior. If a camper loses their swim band they will need to retake the test prior to engaging in the above activities.

What time will my camper arrive?  If your camper is riding the bus to camp, they should arrive between 230-430pm.  If you are dropping your camper off, please do not plan to arrive prior to 2pm. Camp staff will be cleaning and preparing, you will not be allowed to check in early.

Are phones allowed? No. Students may use them on the bus if they like, but phone will be collected at camp check in and will be locked in the office until the end of the camp. If a camper needs to call home they may speak to their camp director.
